The light compressed and lengthened
Two shadows, shoulders pressed close together.
We roamed, you and I,
Like two sleepwalkers,
Blind to the dancing snowflakes,
Deaf to the blaring ears demanding right of way.

Many times you urged me to go home,
But when parting came, you made me stay a little longer.

I wished your home a thousand mils away
So we could walk the whole night through till dawn.
