Are you nearer to your port today than you were yesterday? Yes,－you must be a little to some port or other; for since your ship was first launched upon the sea of life, you have never been still for a single moment; the sea is too deep, you could not find an anchorage if you would; there can be no pause until you come into port.

译文：
相比昨天，今天的你是否离港湾更近一些了呢？是的，－－你一定离某个港湾更近了；因为，自从你驶入人生的海洋，你的航船便没有片刻停歇；海洋是如此深邃，你根本无法找到抛锚停泊之处；因此，在驶入港湾之前，你不得停下脚步。
