(Woman) Now, Mr. Blake. I've just been reading what your own doctor says. I gather you haven't been feeling very well lately? Is that right?
(Man) It's … it's my leg, doctor. My right leg. I keep getting a strange pain in it.
(Woman) Could you describe this pain to me?
(Man) It's like … like boiling water running down my leg. It's been getting worse lately, too. I've been losing sleep.
(Woman) You mean the pain's been keeping you awake.
(Man) Yes, that's right. This pain's been keeping me awake.
(Woman) Now, tell me, how long have you had this trouble?
(Man) You mean the pain? Well, it has been with me for about a year now.
(Woman) Hmmm … have you been getting tired lately after you ve taken a walk? For example, have you been getting a bit short of breath, perhaps?
(Man) Why, yes!Yes, I have, doctor!
(Woman) Hmmm …I think we'd better give you a few tests here in hospital.
(Man) Do you think it's serious, doctor?
(Woman) Probably not.
(Man) But … Doctor Martin,my local doctor, thinks it's only that I've been knocking myself out on that research project of mine for too long.
(Woman) That could be the reason. You've been working too hard, I presume. But, don't worry. We'll soon find out.

Question 15 to 18 are based on the following talk
(Man) Deserts are fascinating geographical areas, and I want to spend the next couple of lectures describing why they are so fascinating. First, let's discuss some of the vital statistics of a desert area. Deserts are found,of course,in dry areas, areas too dry to support grasslands.Deserts often receive less than 10 inches of rain annually. And when it does rain, much of the rainwater either evaporates or runs off the barren soil. Finally, you need to realize that all the plants and animals that live in the desert have adapted amazingly to this lack of water. For example,a typical and well- known desert plant is the cactus. A cactus has shallow roots that grow over a wide area, so that it can pick up as much water as possible. Since cacti are without leaves, they lose little water from their surface through evaporation. Another desert plant, the mesquite, gets water in an opposite way. It has roots that may extend as deep as 30 feet. What about the animals in the desert? How have they adapted to the desert heat? First, most desert animals come out only at night in order to avoid the extremes in heat. Second, these animals try to find shade or burrow into the sand which may serve as protection against heat. But how do these animals conserve water? They obviously need water to live. Well, some animals drink the moisture provided from the morning dew. Others like the kangaroo rat never drink water at all. Finally, Reptiles such as snakes and lizards have skins that prevent much water from evaporating from their bodies.
Question No.15. According to the talk, where can we find deserts?
Question No.16. In what way does the cactus, a typical desert plant, get water?
Question No.17. How do most animals adapt themselves to the high temperature of the desert heat?
