　　Task 1

　　Your friend often feels nervous when speaking in front of a large group of people. What suggestions would you give him?

　　Task 2

　　When you take a trip, do you prefer to just look around, or do you prefer to take pictures and keep a journal on the trip.

　　Task 3

　　A student proposes that the school should allow students to drink beverages in the library because students need coffee or tea to refresh their mind while reading in the library, and that they will be careful not to spill any drink.

　　In conversation, the woman disagrees with the proposal. First, there is a cafe near the library. Taking a few minutes off from the library and having a little walk is a good way to relax. Also, accidents do happen sometimes no matter how careful you’re, so in the long run, there will be stains on the books or damage to the computer.

　　Task 4

　　Information overload: amount of information exceeds people’s capacity to process it.

　　The professor gives two examples. First, when a company recruits, they might receive a lot of applications on the first day, but they don’t have time to go through every application, so they only look at some important information and ignore the rest. Second, sometimes when people receive too much information, like when they are recommended too many materials, they might just not look at anything at all.

　　Task 5

　　Problem: The woman is too busy with her study and part-time job to work out at the gym.

　　Solution 1: She can bike to school instead of taking the bus, but it takes a long time and it’s hot outside.

　　Solution 2: She can get up early to go to the gym and take a shower afterwards, but she doesn’t want to get up that early.

　　Task 6

　　The professor talks about two way animals in Arctic adapt themselves to the cold weather.

　　The first is basking. For example, butterflies open their wings to absorb solar energy to keep warm.

　　The second is freezing tolerance. For example, flies can freeze the water inside their body and release special chemicals to protect their body.
