Unfortunately, afraid of being falsely identified as offenders and sentenced to pay economic compensation, a great many passers-by are hesitant about whether to support the aged person
with their hands. The caption indicates: “After an old man falling down”.
The picture above illustrates that our current society is in need of social morality and traditional virtue, which can support us no matter how dark the world around us becomes. Being a nation renowned in the world for many of its traditional virtues, the Chinese people have been practicing social morality throughout history. As a matter of fact, people of many different cultures have regarded public morality as the most sublime of human emotions.
It is my view that the best way to show social morality is to help people who are more unfortunate than we are. We should always be ready to give a helping hand to those who are in trouble, no matter whether they are family members or complete strangers. Only by doing so can we help to make the world a better place, for, as the picture shows, the darker the shadows of misfortune become, the more brightly the lamp of public morality shines.

上面的图画阐明我们当今社会急需社会公德与传统美德。不论我们周围的世界变得多么黑暗，它们都能支撑我们。作为一个以很多美德闻名于世的民族，中国人民在历史上一直恪守社会公德。事实上，处于不同文化中的人们都把社会公德当作人类最高尚的情感。
我认为，展现社会公德的最好方式是帮助比我们更加不幸的人。我们应该随时准备向有困难的人伸出援助之手，无论他们是家庭成员还是素昧平生。这样，我们能够助一臂之力把世界变成一个更美好的地方，因为，正如图画所描绘的，不幸的阴影越黑暗，公德之灯的光芒就越闪亮。
