　　Recently I heard about a local accident caused by some children, in the outcome of which a business was forced to close. I was very shocked to hear that a group of local children had been playing with firecrackers in the Beijing hutongs when their game got out of hand. Normally, this is something that the local authorities can deal with very quickly and efficiently, but this time it seemed too much for them to handle. 中文：最近我听说当地发生了一起由一些孩子造成的事故。一个企业被迫关闭。一群当地的孩子在北京胡同玩鞭炮，场面就失控了。通常，当地政府可以非常快速、高效地解决这件事，但这一次的事很难处理。

　　The children managed to set a parked vehicle on fire, due to a leaking petrol tank that left a trail of gasoline along the road to a puddle under the large van in question. The van burned very fast. The huge fire caused a lot of destruction to the surrounding buildings, including the local business whose staff owned the van. It turned out that the van was illegally parked when the fire broke out, so the business were very heavily fined for causing so much damage, even though it was the kids who actually set it alight! 中文：孩子们把一辆停着的车点着了，油箱漏了，汽油沿路流到一辆大货车下面。车很快被点燃了。巨大的火苗烧造成很多周围很多的建筑焚毁，包括车主的店。调查发现货车起火时是非法停车，所以车主被大额罚款，虽说车是被孩子点着的。

　　I learnt about this piece of news through friends who live in the area, one of whom actually saw the fire just after it had broken out. He said that a local newspaper ran a story and that he saw a very short report on a TV news show. I think this news is interesting because it shows how the local authorities handle such situations, displays how a small incident can affect a local community and demonstrates that even minor news will be reported widely. 中文：我从在这一地区的朋友们那里听到的这个消息，有一个朋友还看到了爆炸之后的火苗。他说当地一家报纸报道了此事，他在一个新闻节目里看见一个很短的报告。我认为这个消息有趣之处在于它展示了地方政府如何处理这种情况，以及在小地方一件小事会被广泛地传开。
