T1: Which of the following jobs do you want to do the most? An actor/actress, a computer programmer, a business owner?

  Sample:

I prefer to be an actress. This career is a little bit mysterious to me. After all it’s easy to get to know a computer programmer or a business owner, but it is not easy to acquaint an actress. Being an actress allows me to experience different lives. In this play I could be a daughter of a rich family and lead a prosperous life while in the other play I may be from a poor family. It would be fun. Another reason I want to be an actress is that I would be generously paid once I become a star. It means I am able to do more charity work. I wish I could be a big star who can exert a positive influence on people.

T2: Some students prefer to go to university immediately after high school. Others prefer to take a break or work for a while before going to university. Which do you prefer and why? Use specific reasons and examples to support your response.

  Sample:

As far as I am concerned, I prefer to take a break for a while before going to university. During this period, I can go travelling, do a part-time job or just have a rest. I think having a break before going to university has two advantages. First, after 12 years of studying at elementary and middle school, I am very tired of studying. If I can take the time after high school to have a rest or go out to travel, I will figure out what I am truly interested in. Second, having a break before going to university can provide me an opportunity to see the world outside school which is very different from what we have experienced at school. I will be able to return to university with a new perspective toward the knowledge I will learn. Therefore, considering the two advantages, I prefer to take a break before going to university.
