  Dear Sir or Madam,

I’m writing to complain about(投诉)the recent purchase(购买)of a woolen sweater(羊毛衫) from your department store on Philip Street, on August 25, 2007.I recently washed the sweater in cool water(冷水), as per(按照)the instructions(说明)on the label(标签). However, when I removed(取出)it from the machine(机器,这里指洗衣机), the garment(服装,衣服)was stretched(拉伸)out of shape(变形), and no longer fits(合适).

I phoned the store last Tuesday (June 21) and spoke to the department manager(部门经理), a Mr. Morris, who was rather rude(粗鲁的,态度差的)on the phone and informed(告知)me that I am not able to get a replacement(置换)sweater as it was purchased at a reduced price(降价). I felt really upset(不安的,难过的), for I have been a loyal(忠实的)customer(顾客)of your store for many years and until this incident(小事件), never had any complaints. I, therefore, feel disappointed to be treated in such a manner(这种方式).

I would, however, be perfectly(十分)satisfied(满意)if you would kindly(好心肠地)replace(更换) the sweater or refund(退还) my money, whichever(不管哪个)is more convenient(方便的).

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

  Yours truly,

  Kenny Gao
