(3) another修饰或代替可数名词单数，意为“（不定数目中的）另一个”，不能指两者中的另一个。one.another(a second).…a third.the other.意为“一个……再一个……第三个……其余的……”。此结构常用于三者以上的排列。one another和each other都可用于涉及两个或多个人或事物的场合。另外，“every other+可数名词单数”表示“每隔一……”。
This coat is too small. Please show me another.（宾语）这件外套太小了，请给我拿另一件。
(4) another和more都可以和数词连用，修饰复数名词，意为“再，又”，但在句中的位置不一样，another位于数词前面，而more则在数词后面。
Please give me another ten minutes.
(= Please give me ten more minutes.)请再给我10分钟的时间。
4．配对代词巧辨析
(1) one，the one与ones
①one只能替代单数名词，one的复数形式ones只能替代复数名词，表泛指。
My child doesn't like this book. Show her a more interesting one.我的孩子不喜欢这本书，给她一本更有趣的。
②替代词one或ones必须带有一个限定词或修饰词，它们和所替代的名词所指代的不是同一个对象，即“同名异物”。
I don't like this umbrella very much. Please show me a more elegant one.我不太喜欢这把雨伞，请让我看一把更雅致的。
③当替代词one或ones带有后置修饰语时，它们的前面总有定冠词the，表特指。
Our new car is more expensive than the one we had before.我们的新车比以前我们拥有的那辆贵。
④替代词one如果不带任何前置修饰语，即它的前面既没有限定词，又没有形容词时，则是替代整个名词词组。这时，one=a/an+单数名词。
A cake made of wheat costs less than one made of rice．(one =a cake)用小麦制作的蛋糕比用大米制作的蛋糕花费得少。
one的这种用法是泛指同类事物中的任何一个，相当于“不定冠词十单数名词”，因此它没有复数形式。此时要泛指复数事物，只能用some。

(2)no，none与no one
①no等于not any或not a(n)，可以修饰可数名词，也可以修饰不可数名词。no有时用作副词，与形容词、副词或其比较级连用，表示否定。
No man is born wise.聪明非天生。
He found this was no light task.他发现这不是个轻松的任务。
The sick man is no better.那个病人一点都没有好转。
②none既可以指人又可以指物，表示“一个人／物也没有”。none代替不可数名词作主语
时，谓语动词用单数形式；代替可数名词作主语时，谓语动词可用单数也可用复数形式。none
还可以用来回答how many/much引导的问句。
We were all tired,but none of us would stop to have a rest．我们都累了，但是没有一个人愿意停下来休息。
