　　The Cao Yu Drama Literature Award is an important artistic award in the field of Chinese dramatic literature. It is the highest award in Chinese drama script writing, and has the highest esteem and most widespread influence in the field of drama. Its predecessor is the National Superior Script Award created by the Chinese Drama Association in 1980. In 1994, it was renamed as the Cao Yu Drama Literature Prize, which was awarded once every two years. For more than 20 years, the National Superior Script Award generated significant influence in modern drama literature creation.
