　　第二次鸦片战争是1856年至1860年，由英、法在俄、美支持下联合发动的侵华战争。是英国与法国趁中国太平天国运动之际，以亚罗号事件及马神甫事件为借口，联手进攻清朝政府的战争，所以被英国人称为“亚罗号战争”。又称“英法联军之役”或“第二次中英战争”。这场战争可以看作是第一次鸦片战争的延续，所以也称“第二次鸦片战争”。

　　The Second Opium War refers to the war of aggression against China jointly launched by Britain and France, with the support of Russia and the United States, between 1856 and 1860. Since it was the attack against the Qing Dynasty launched jointly by Britain and France on the pretext of the Arrow Incident and the Chapdelaine Auguste incident, it was called the "Arrow War" by the British, or also known as the "War Launched by British and French Allied Forces" or "the Second Sino-British War". It can also be taken as the continuation of the First Opium War, so it is also called the "Second Opium War".
