action
He might have brought an legal action against his face for libel [诽谤].
他可能会告自己的脸诽谤。
注：长得太惨了，自己要告自己。

After he was arrested his parents snapped into action, they rent out his room.
在他被逮捕后，他父母迅速采取行动，他们把他的房子租了出去。

Activity
Holiday: a period of activity so intense that it can only be undertaken three or four weeks in the year.
假期是一段剧烈的活动，所以一年只能有三四个星期。
注：假期里其实挺辛苦的，探亲访友，旅游匆匆，厨房挥刀，海吃海喝。

adapt
I am adaptable -----I've changed jobs a lot.
我适应性很强——我换过很多工作。
注：如果你在哪个公司都干不长，换过很多工作，在简历上不要那么写，你可以写”I am adaptable”（我适应性很强）。
