　　The Central Academy of Fine Arts was built in 1950. It is the only higher learning institute of fine art directly subordinate to the Ministry of Education in China, as well as the first state-run fine art academy in China. The academy occupies 495 mu for teaching and research with the building area of 247,000 ㎡ in total. There are eight major colleges and 20 undergraduate programs in the academy. Its well known alumni include Xu Beihong, Li Kuchan and Wu Zuoren.
