　　Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, shortened as Linxia prefecture, is administered by Gansu Province of China. It is located in central Gansu Province, specifically the upper reaches of the Yellow River. On November 19th of 1956, the autonomous prefecture of the Hui ethnic group was established with the seat of government in Linxia. As of 2013, 31 ethnic groups were found there, including Hui, Han, Dongxiang, and Baoan. Ethnic minority populations account for 59.2% of the total population in this region. It covers an area of 8,169 square kilometers and has jurisdiction over 1 city, 5 counties, and 2 ethnic minority counties.
