　　The milu deer is a large herbivore deer species of uniqueness and rarity. It is considered grotesque by many due to its deer-like horn, horse-like face, cattle-like hooves, and donkey-like tail. Despite this, it is gentle and gregarious in nature, and skillful in swimming. It feeds primarily on young grass and aquatic plants. Native to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the milu deer are primarily found in central and eastern China areas where grass and water plants are readily available.
