　　郭守敬(1231-1316年)，字若思，顺德邢台人，元朝著名的天文学家、数学家、水利专家。276年郭守敬修订新历法，经4年时间制订出《授时历》，通行360多年。是当时世界上最先进的一种历法。由于他孜孜不倦、刻苦钻研、勤奋实干，所以在天文、历法、水利和数学等方面都取得了卓越的成就。

　　Guo Shoujing (1231-1316), whose courtesy name was Ruosi, native of Xingtai, Shunde, was a famous astronomer, mathematician and expert on water conservacy in the Yuan Dynasty. In 1276, Guo Shoujing began to revise the new calendar and spent four years in working out the Shoushi Calendar which was in use for over 360 years as the most advanced calendar in the world. His diligent and assiduous work contributed to his remarkable achievements in astronomy, calendar, water conservacy and mathematics.
