“完全”或 “全部”

表达“完全” 或 “全部” 这个概念也比较困难,这里我们对其一一加以阐述。

Incorrect English:

“Every Chinese people want to visit Beijing at least once in their lifetime. ”

Also incorrect:

“All Chinese person wants to visit Beijing at least once in their lifetime.”

Correct English:

“Every Chinese person wants to visit Beijing at least once in their lifetime.”

Also correct:

“All Chinese people want to visit Beijing at least once in their lifetime.”

解释:

当我们使用“every” 这个词时,名词必须用单数形式, 而在另一些语境中(也就是当 “all” 表达“every” 之意时), 名词必须用复数形式,动词也需要做相应的形式上的改变。注意上述句子中“to want”的形式变化。更多例句：

“Every student must go to the auditorium for the meeting Thursday night.”

-or- “All students must go to the auditorium for the meeting Thursday night.”

“Every book costs thirty dollars.”

-or- “All books cost thirty dollars.”
