2012年翻译考试之轻松应对新闻翻译（1）

（1）词汇的掌握。学好汉译英，首先要从学好English开始.从一周的翻译情况看，大家许多的用词都是根据汉语的意思硬套，缺少深入的思考。殊不知英语单词的意思都是很有内涵的，不同的情况用词是不同的。

举例：出现: appear, emerge, loom, arise转自:考试网 - [Examw.Com]

Emerge:正式.，偏中性而appear不太正式 emerge 总体可以=arise

E.g. (1) we will rebuild, we will recover, and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before.

(2) Global issues ……and international and regional hot spots are emerging【新闻汉译英4月28日 国际政治与经济（2）】

Loom: 表出现，多指那些不好的事情（问题，困难）

E.g. (1) I need to start revising—final exams are looming.

(2)The influences of the financial crisis are keeping looming.【国际政治与经济 (2), 修改网友译】

学好英语，应该得学会查字典，多看它的英语意思，多查英英字典，迫使自己用英语思维。有时候甚至需要反复琢磨，杜绝chinglish。汉译英需要词汇能够达到1万以上，笔译工作尤其如此。

E.g. A: to accelerate the pace of economic reform

B: to accelerate economic reform

【 to accelerate = to increase the pace of 】

另外多总结一些同义词，或者说是同类的表达法：

E.g. （1） Furthermore, the mainland stock market develops rapidly/ enjoys a fast-moving pace, while other capital markets are still in a mess/depressed/gloomy/in a recession.【新闻汉译英4月25日 中国证券市场（4）】
